DALLAS EDITION

A booklet empowering Dallas individuals and communities with actionable steps to become good neighbors.

Graphic of neighbors helping one another.

You live in Dallas,

and you care about this community. You’re proud of this city, in fact. You desire to know the people around you. You want to know how to step in when your neighbors need help.

There is just one problem: you are limited, very limited.

Maybe you have kids running around. You definitely have bills to pay. Actually, you feel nervous when you even think about knocking on the doors of your neighbors. You’re not sure where to start.

Enter: The Dallas Good Neighbor Guide.

The Dallas Good Neighbor Guide is a booklet designed to equip Dallas individuals and communities with dozens of tangible steps they can take to know and love the people of Dallas. Each action item comes with a specific time commitment and estimated cost.

  • Have an hour? Read an article about the history of Dallas.

  • Have 5 minutes? Follow your city council members on social media.

  • Have $20? Purchase school supplies for a local teacher.

You get the idea.

The guide walks you through the journey of becoming an engaged neighbor.

First, you’ll reflect on your own story and learn how the history of Dallas impacts the city today. You’ll then be equipped to meet your neighbors, build empathy, spend time in your community, and serve locally. Lastly, you will broaden your perspective on civic advocacy and ways to care for your shared environment.

In other words: it's a compilation of our best ideas and practical resources to equip YOU to be a good neighbor in the city of Dallas.
